Glipizide, Metformin falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyllin interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyllin with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.
Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. Orally, chlorophyll has also been associated with the development of pseudoporphyria in multiple case reports.

Here's the thing to know about pairing chlorophyllin with your Metaglip (the glipizide and metformin combo): this isn't about your blood sugar control or how the medicine works inside you. Instead, it's about your skin and the sun. Glipizide is one of those medicines that can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, and chlorophyllin may add to that effect, so you could sunburn faster or get a rash more easily.

I'll be honest, this is mostly a theoretical concern based on reports with chlorophyll, not strong proof. It's not dangerous in the way a blood sugar crash would be. Just play it safe with sunscreen, a hat, and shade while taking both. If you notice unusual skin reactions, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.
