Here's a twist that surprises a lot of folks: this interaction isn't about the medicine causing you trouble. It actually runs the other way. The aspirin part of this combo product is a prostaglandin blocker, and on paper that may help your body absorb and hold onto a little more chromium. So if anything, your chromium levels could nudge up slightly when you take the two together.

I want to keep this in perspective. This is rated minor and is purely theoretical, based on how the drugs work rather than real patient reports. The codeine, antacids (aluminum and magnesium), and aspirin in this product aren't expected to act any differently because of chromium. There's no real danger here, but if you take chromium daily, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: it's the aspirin portion of this combination product that's tied to chromium, not the codeine or the antacids. The interaction actually works the other way around from what most people expect. The aspirin doesn't get changed by chromium. Instead, animal studies hint that aspirin might help your body absorb a bit more chromium, nudging chromium blood levels up slightly.

So your aspirin, codeine, and antacid will all keep doing their usual jobs. This is a theoretical, very minor note based only on animal data, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you take chromium regularly, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on things.
