Theoretically, chromium may have additive effects with antidiabetic agents and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.

Here's the simple version: Tresiba (insulin degludec) is your long-acting insulin that keeps your blood sugar steadier all day. Chromium may help your body's own insulin work a little better, so when you stack it on top of your injected insulin, the two can push in the same direction and lower your blood sugar more than expected.

That means a slightly higher chance of hypoglycemia, which can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a fast heartbeat, confusion, or feeling suddenly hungry. The good news is that most studies show only a modest effect, mainly in folks whose type 2 diabetes isn't well controlled yet. Don't change your insulin dose on your own. If you'd like to try chromium, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your glucose readings.

What Is Insulin Degludec (rDNA Origin) Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tresiba

Insulin degludec (brand name Tresiba) is used to improve blood sugar (glucose) control in adults and children 1 year of age and older who have diabetes mellitus — including both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

It is not recommended for treating diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication of diabetes that requires a different type of treatment). In people with type 1 diabetes, insulin degludec must always be used together with a short-acting insulin.
