Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Abemaciclib
Abemaciclib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical research show that berberine moderately inhibits CYP3A4. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP3A4.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with your breast cancer pill, abemaciclib (Verzenio). Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break it down and clear it out. Corydalis yanhusuo contains a compound called berberine, which lab and early human studies suggest can slow that enzyme down. If the enzyme works slower, abemaciclib could build up higher than intended in your blood.
With more drug hanging around, you might see stronger side effects, things like diarrhea, low blood counts, fatigue, or nausea. I want to be honest though: this concern is theoretical, based on how the herb behaves in the lab, not on proven cases. Since abemaciclib is a serious cancer medicine, please don't add this herb without first checking with your oncologist or pharmacist.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Abemaciclib page
“A daily pill for a common form of advanced breast cancer, abemaciclib (Verzenio) only helps when its blood level stays steady, so this list of 138 supplements deserves genuine care. Nearly all of them act on CYP3A4, the liver enzyme that clears abemaciclib, meaning a supplement can push its level up and intensify side effects, or drag…”

About Abemaciclib
What Is Abemaciclib Used For?
Brand name: Verzenio
Verzenio (abemaciclib) is used to treat HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer in adults. For early breast cancer at high risk of recurrence, Verzenio is taken alongside endocrine therapy (tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor) after surgery to help prevent the cancer from coming back.
For advanced or metastatic breast cancer (cancer that has spread), Verzenio can be used in combination with an aromatase inhibitor as a first hormonal treatment, in combination with fulvestrant after the cancer has progressed on endocrine therapy, or alone after prior endocrine therapy and chemotherapy have stopped working.
