Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Corydalis yanhusuo may have its own mild blood-pressure-lowering action, so pairing the two could nudge your numbers a little lower than acebutolol alone. If they stack up, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, unusually tired, or notice a slower-than-usual pulse, especially when you stand up quickly.

I want to be honest about how solid this is. The concern is theoretical, based mostly on lab and animal work plus some berberine studies, not on people taking this exact combination. It's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor, and don't change your acebutolol on your own.

What Is Acebutolol Used For?

Acebutolol Hydrochloride capsules are used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. They can be used on their own or alongside other blood pressure medications, particularly thiazide-type diuretics.

They are also used to treat ventricular premature beats — extra, out-of-rhythm heartbeats that originate in the lower chambers of the heart. Acebutolol reduces how often these abnormal beats occur, including complex patterns that can be more concerning.
