Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Ziac pairs a beta-blocker (bisoprolol) with a water pill (hydrochlorothiazide), and both work to bring your blood pressure down. The concern here is simple addition: Corydalis yanhusuo may have its own mild blood-pressure-lowering activity, so stacking it on top of Ziac could push your numbers lower than intended.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, unusually tired, or faint when standing up quickly. I want to be honest though, this caution is theoretical, based on lab and animal work and a study of berberine, not on people taking this exact combination. It's likely a small effect, but please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Corydalis, and keep an eye on your readings if you do.

Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence show that berberine can inhibit CYP2D6. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2D6.

Your blood pressure pill Ziac is a combo of two medicines: bisoprolol (a beta-blocker) and hydrochlorothiazide (a water pill). The piece that matters here is bisoprolol, which is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Corydalis may slow that enzyme down, so in theory bisoprolol could build up a bit more than usual.

If that happened, you might notice the beta-blocker effects feeling stronger: a slower heartbeat, more tiredness, dizziness, or feeling lightheaded when you stand up. I want to be honest though, this concern is based on lab reasoning, not solid human studies, so it's more of a 'keep an eye out' situation. Please don't change anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Corydalis.
