Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro and in vivo research suggest that berberine can inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit platelet aggregation.

Here's the situation with Prolensa or Bromsite (bromfenac eye drops) and corydalis. Bromfenac is an NSAID, and even as an eye drop it can have a mild effect on platelets, the tiny cells that help your blood clot. Corydalis is thought to contain berberine, which lab and animal studies suggest may also make platelets a little less sticky. Put the two together and, in theory, you could nudge up the risk of bleeding or bruising.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes only from test-tube and animal work, not human studies, and bromfenac drops deliver a very small dose to the body. So real-world risk is likely low. Still, after eye surgery, mention the corydalis to your eye doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
