Here's the gist: Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, a compound that some research suggests can nudge blood sugar down on its own. Dapagliflozin (Farxiga) is already lowering your blood sugar by helping your kidneys flush out extra glucose. So if you stack the two, the worry is that their effects could add up and push your sugar a little too low.

To be fair, this concern is mostly theoretical, based on how the herb behaves rather than solid human studies pairing it with Farxiga. Still, it's worth watching. If you notice shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or feeling unusually tired or foggy, those can be signs of low blood sugar. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than starting or stopping anything on your own.

What Is Dapagliflozin Used For?

Brand name: Farxiga

Dapagliflozin is used for several serious conditions. It helps improve blood sugar control in adults and children aged 10 and older with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise). It also reduces the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors.

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) is additionally approved to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, hospitalization, and urgent visits due to heart failure in adults with heart failure — and to slow the progression of chronic kidney disease, including reducing the risk of kidney failure and cardiovascular death, in adults with chronic kidney disease at risk of getting worse.
