Here's the basic idea. Insulin lispro already lowers your blood sugar, and that's exactly its job. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which on its own may also nudge blood sugar down. Stack the two together and, in theory, your sugar could drop lower than you'd expect. That can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or in serious cases passing out.

I'll be honest with you: this concern is theoretical, based on how berberine behaves, not on solid studies of this exact combination. Insulin lispro is not a prodrug, so there's no activation step to worry about here. Still, if you'd like to try corydalis, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and watch your glucose readings more closely at the start.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
