Phenoxybenzamine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with.

Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Here's the basic idea with these two together. Phenoxybenzamine already lowers blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels, which is how it controls the spikes from a pheochromocytoma. Corydalis yanhusuo may have its own mild blood pressure lowering effect (partly from a compound called berberine). Stacking the two could push your pressure down a little too far.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, or faint, especially when you stand up, and your heart may race a bit. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these things work, not strong human proof, so it may never cause you trouble. Still, since phenoxybenzamine is used for a serious condition, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Phenoxybenzamine hydrochloride capsules are used to treat pheochromocytoma — a rare tumor of the adrenal gland that releases large bursts of stress hormones, causing dangerous spikes in blood pressure and heavy sweating. The capsules help keep those episodes under control.

If the heart rate becomes too fast during treatment, a doctor may also prescribe a beta-blocker alongside phenoxybenzamine.
