Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Here's the gist with Entresto (sacubitril/valsartan): this medicine already lowers your blood pressure as part of how it helps your heart. Corydalis yanhusuo may contain berberine, which animal studies and a small human study suggest can gently lower blood pressure too. Put them together and the effects could stack, so your blood pressure might dip lower than expected.

If that happens, you may feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or wobbly when you stand up. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on how things work, not solid proof from real-world use. Still, since Entresto is heart medicine, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Corydalis, and watch how you feel if you do.

Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Preliminary clinical research shows that berberine can inhibit CYP2C9. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2C9.

Here's the idea behind this pairing. Corydalis yanhusuo may contain berberine, and early lab research hints that berberine can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. The valsartan part of Entresto is partly handled by that same enzyme. So in theory, taking this herb could let valsartan build up a bit more than usual.

If that happened, you might notice exaggerated effects like dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, lower blood pressure, or rising potassium levels. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern based on test-tube and animal data, not real patient reports, so the actual risk is likely small. Still, since Entresto already affects your blood pressure and kidneys, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

About Valsartan and Sacubitril

What Is Valsartan and Sacubitril Used For?

Brand name: Entresto

Sacubitril and valsartan is used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalization for heart failure in adult patients with chronic heart failure. The benefit is most clearly seen in patients whose heart pumps with a lower-than-normal ejection fraction (the percentage of blood the heart pushes out with each beat).

It is also approved to treat symptomatic heart failure with reduced left ventricular function in children aged 1 year and older. In pediatric patients, it lowers a blood marker of heart stress (NT-proBNP) and is expected to improve heart outcomes.
