Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical research show that berberine moderately inhibits CYP3A4. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP3A4.

This combination pill pairs simvastatin (a cholesterol medicine) with sitagliptin (a blood sugar medicine). The piece that matters here is the simvastatin half. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear simvastatin, and Corydalis yanhusuo may contain compounds that slow that enzyme down. If it does, more simvastatin could linger in your system than usual.

In plain terms, higher simvastatin levels can raise the odds of muscle aches, weakness, or rare but serious muscle breakdown. That said, this is a theoretical concern based on lab work, not solid human studies, so it's a caution rather than a red flag. The sitagliptin side isn't really involved. Before combining them, check with your pharmacist or doctor.

Juvisync is a combo pill: sitagliptin helps lower your blood sugar, while simvastatin works on cholesterol. The piece that matters here is the sitagliptin side. Corydalis yanhusuo may contain berberine, a compound that has been shown to gently lower blood sugar on its own. So in theory, stacking it on top of a blood-sugar medicine could push your glucose down a little too far.

To be clear, this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave rather than real-world reports with this exact pill. Still, watch for signs of low blood sugar like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, or confusion. Don't change anything on your own. Just check in with your pharmacist or doctor before adding corydalis.
