Lofepramine falls under TRICYCLIC ANTIDEPRESSANTS (TCAs) — the group Cowhage interacts with.

Theoretically, use of TCAs might reduce the levels and clinical effects of cowhage.
Cowhage contains levodopa. Use of TCAs might reduce the absorption of levodopa. Some case reports describe patients that developed hypertension and dyskinesia when taking both levodopa and TCAs.

Here's the deal with pairing cowhage and Lofepramine. Cowhage is basically a natural source of L-dopa, the same active ingredient found in some Parkinson's medicines. Lofepramine is a tricyclic antidepressant, and on paper there are two concerns. First, tricyclics may lower how well your body absorbs the L-dopa from cowhage, so the supplement could work less well than you'd expect.

Second, a handful of older case reports noted people on L-dopa plus a tricyclic who developed high blood pressure and unwanted involuntary movements (dyskinesia). I'll be honest, this is theoretical and based mostly on how the drugs work, not strong studies. Still, since cowhage's L-dopa content is hard to dose, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.
