Buproprion, Dextromethorphan falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Devil's Claw interacts with.

Theoretically, devil's claw might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw might inhibit CYP3A4, although this has not been reported in humans.

Auvelity combines bupropion and dextromethorphan, and both pieces matter here. Bupropion actually slows the breakdown of dextromethorphan on purpose, helping it stay active longer. Some of these drugs also pass through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. The concern with devil's claw is that, in test-tube studies, it appeared to mildly block CYP3A4, which could in theory let levels of some medications climb a little.

The good news: this has only been seen in lab dishes, never in real people, so the evidence is weak. If levels did rise, you might notice more dizziness, jitteriness, dry mouth, or trouble sleeping. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but since this combo affects mood and the brain, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
