Theoretically, devil's claw might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw might inhibit CYP3A4, although this has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for Fosamprenavir (Lexiva). Your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break this HIV medicine down. Lab studies hint that devil's claw might slow that same enzyme. If that happened in real people, fosamprenavir could build up a bit higher than usual, which might mean more side effects like nausea, diarrhea, rash, or headache.

I want to be honest about the evidence though: this comes only from test-tube research, and it has not been seen in actual patients. So the real-world risk is uncertain and probably small, especially with occasional use. Still, HIV therapy is too important to gamble with, so please run devil's claw past your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

About Fosamprenavir

What Is Fosamprenavir Used For?

Brand names: Lexiva, Telzir

Fosamprenavir tablets (sold as Fosamprenavir Calcium and Lexiva) are used together with other antiretroviral medicines to treat HIV-1 infection in adults and in children as young as 4 weeks old. It is not used alone — it is always part of a combination regimen.

For adults who have already taken protease inhibitor medicines before, fosamprenavir is used alongside a low dose of ritonavir. Once-daily dosing with ritonavir is not recommended for adults who have previously used protease inhibitors, or for any pediatric patients.
