Here's the gist with Viekira Pak (your hepatitis C combo of ombitasvir, paritaprevir, ritonavir, and dasabuvir): several of these pieces are cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In test-tube studies, devil's claw appeared to slow that enzyme down. If that were to happen in your body, levels of the medication could creep up, which might mean more side effects like nausea, tiredness, itching, or trouble sleeping.

The important caveat: this is only lab data, and it has never been seen in real people, so the concern is theoretical. Still, since these are active drugs fighting a serious infection and you want them working just right, I'd run devil's claw past your pharmacist or doctor before starting it. Don't change anything on your own.

Theoretically, devil's claw might increase levels of P-glycoprotein substrates.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw inhibits P-glycoprotein, which transports many drugs out of cells. This might increase intracellular levels of P-glycoprotein substrates, although it is unclear if this effect would be clinically important.

The Viekira Pak combination (ombitasvir, paritaprevir, ritonavir, and dasabuvir) is one of those hepatitis C regimens that your body moves around using a transport pump called P-glycoprotein. Some lab studies hint that devil's claw might slow that pump down a bit. In theory, that could let slightly more of these medicines stay inside your cells, which might nudge up the chance of side effects like nausea, tiredness, trouble sleeping, or itching.

Here's the honest part: this concern comes only from test-tube research, not from real people, so we truly don't know if it matters in everyday life. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but because clearing hep C is so important, I'd run any devil's claw plans past your pharmacist or doctor first.
