Evening primrose oil contains gamma linolenic acid (GLA). There is preliminary clinical evidence that GLA can reduce platelet aggregation and prolong bleeding time.

The piece of this combo product that matters here is the aspirin. Aspirin already makes your platelets less sticky, which is how it helps prevent clots, but it also makes you bleed and bruise more easily. Evening primrose oil contains GLA, and early lab-type evidence hints it may also nudge platelets to clump less and lengthen bleeding time.

Put the two together and you could, in theory, add a little extra bleeding risk on top of the aspirin. Think easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that takes longer to stop. To be clear, this is a theoretical concern based on how these ingredients behave, not strong proof. Still, if you take aspirin regularly, have a bleeding problem, or have surgery coming up, check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding evening primrose.

Evening primrose oil is a seed oil rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid, that is popularly used for skin conditions, PMS, and breast pain. The evidence behind most of these uses is mixed or weak, and it is not proven to be a reliable treatment for any condition. It is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting it, especially if you are pregnant or have a bleeding disorder.
