Aspirin, Hydrocodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, fever bark might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that yohimbine, a constituent of fever bark, inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity. The effects of fever bark itself are unclear.

Here's the wrinkle with this combo. The hydrocodone in your pain reliever leans on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to convert it into a stronger pain-fighting form (it acts a bit like a prodrug). Fever bark contains a yohimbine-like compound that, in lab dishes, appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that happened in your body, you might actually get less pain relief from the hydrocodone, since less of it gets activated.

I'll be honest though, this is only theoretical and based on test-tube work, so the real effect in people is unknown and may be small. Fever bark itself carries its own risks, so before mixing the two, please check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

Theoretically, combining fever bark with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might have additive effects; however, this has not been reported in clinical research.
Research in healthy adults shows that taking yohimbine, a constituent of fever bark, in doses of 8 mg or more, seems to inhibit platelet aggregation in vitro by binding to the alpha-2 adrenoceptor. The effects of fever bark itself are unclear.

The combo you're asking about pairs aspirin (a blood thinner that keeps platelets from clumping) with hydrocodone (an opioid for pain). The interaction on file is really about the aspirin part. Fever bark contains a yohimbine-like compound that, in lab dishes, also seemed to make platelets less sticky. So in theory, stacking it on top of aspirin could add up and make you bleed or bruise a little more easily.

Honestly though, this is very weak evidence, just test-tube and animal data, with nothing seen in real people. I'd file it as a small maybe, not a red alert. Still, watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums, and since fever bark's alkaloids can mess with blood pressure and heart rate anyway, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects. It is best avoided unless used under direct medical supervision.
