Viloxazine Hydrochloride falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS — the group Fever Bark interacts with.

Theoretically, CYP3A4 inhibitors might increase the levels and clinical effects of yohimbine, a constituent of fever bark.
In vitro and clinical research shows that the fever bark constituent, yohimbine, is metabolized by CYP3A4 enzymes.

Here the concern runs the opposite of what people usually expect. It isn't your viloxazine (Qelbreenda) that piles up, it's the yohimbine found in fever bark. Viloxazine can act as a CYP3A4 inhibitor, meaning it slows the enzyme that normally breaks yohimbine down. With that cleanup slowed, yohimbine levels could climb and stick around longer.

Yohimbine is a stimulant-type compound, so higher levels may bring on a racing or pounding heart, rising blood pressure, jitteriness, sweating, or anxiety. To be fair, this is a theoretical interaction based on how the chemicals behave, not something proven in real patients. Still, fever bark already carries risky alkaloids, so please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Here's the twist with this pairing: it isn't your ADHD medicine, viloxazine (Qelbreenda), that piles up. It's the yohimbine hiding in fever bark. Viloxazine blocks the CYP2D6 enzyme, and that same enzyme is what your body uses to clear yohimbine. Slow down that cleanup and the yohimbine can linger longer and hit harder.

What might that feel like? Yohimbine tends to push up blood pressure and heart rate, and can bring on jitteriness, anxiety, or a racing, pounding heart. This concern is theoretical, based on how the drug and supplement behave rather than real-world reports, so I don't want to alarm you. Still, fever bark is potent and poorly studied. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Fever bark is the bark of the Australian tree Alstonia constricta, used in traditional medicine for fever, diarrhea, and infections. There is very little reliable human research to support these uses, and the bark contains potent alkaloids that may cause serious side effects. It is best avoided unless used under direct medical supervision.
