The medication you're asking about combines ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever) with hydrocodone, an opioid painkiller. The hydrocodone piece is what matters here. Opioids already slow down your brain and your breathing, and GHB does the exact same thing through a separate pathway. Stacking these two together means the calming, sedating effects can pile up far more than either one alone.

In real terms, that can look like heavy drowsiness, slurred speech, confusion, slowed or shallow breathing, and in a worst case, passing out or stopping breathing. That risk is the reason GHB outside of medical care is so dangerous. Please don't combine them, and talk with your pharmacist or doctor about safe pain options.

What is Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (ghb)?

GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) is a powerful central nervous system depressant that is NOT a safe dietary supplement. In the U.S. it is a controlled substance, and only a tightly regulated prescription form (sodium oxybate) is legal for narcolepsy. Non-prescription GHB can cause coma, breathing failure, and death, and it is also a known 'date-rape' drug — it should not be taken outside of medical supervision.
