Hydrochlorothiazide, Moexipril falls under DIURETIC DRUGS — the group Green Tea interacts with.

Theoretically, using green tea with diuretic drugs might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
Green tea contains caffeine. In excessive amounts, caffeine can reduce potassium levels due to stimulation of the sodium-potassium pump. Diuretics can also cause lower potassium levels.

Uniretic combines two blood pressure medicines: hydrochlorothiazide (a 'water pill') and moexipril (an ACE inhibitor). The water pill side can lower your potassium, while the moexipril side actually tends to nudge potassium up, so the two often balance each other out. The concern here is mostly theoretical and comes from the caffeine in green tea, which in very large amounts can shift potassium a bit lower too.

For most folks enjoying a few cups of green tea a day, this isn't something to worry about. The bigger question is concentrated green tea extract supplements or heavy caffeine on top of the diuretic. If you notice muscle cramps, weakness, or an irregular heartbeat, or you take potassium-affecting supplements, check in with your pharmacist or doctor so your potassium can be reviewed.
