Here's the simple version: green tea naturally contains caffeine, and caffeine is a stimulant. Solriamfetol (Sunosi) is also a wakefulness-promoting drug with stimulant-like effects, so stacking the two can pile on top of each other. This isn't about green tea changing how your body breaks down the drug. It's just two stimulating things working at the same time.

What might you notice? Things like a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, anxiety, headache, or trouble falling asleep at night. Keep in mind this concern is based on expert opinion rather than hard studies, and an occasional cup of green tea is far less likely to matter than several cups a day or concentrated extract capsules. If you drink a lot of it or take supplements, mention that to your pharmacist or doctor so they can help you find a comfortable balance.

What Is Solriamfetol Used For?

Brand name: Sunosi

Sunosi (solriamfetol) is approved to improve wakefulness in adults who experience excessive daytime sleepiness caused by narcolepsy or obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Important: Sunosi does not treat the airway obstruction that causes OSA. If you have OSA, you must continue your existing treatment — such as CPAP (a breathing machine worn at night) — throughout your time on Sunosi. Sunosi is not a replacement for those therapies.
