Animal research shows that jambolan seed and bark extracts can lower blood glucose levels. Theoretically, jambolan might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. This might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in some patients. Monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Here's the short version: insulin lispro (Humalog) is a fast-acting insulin that already pushes your blood sugar down quickly after meals. Jambolan, especially concentrated seed or bark extracts, may have its own mild sugar-lowering action. Stack the two and the effects could add up, which means your blood sugar might drop lower than expected.

If that happens, you could feel the classic signs of a low: shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. I'll be honest though, this concern comes mostly from animal studies, so it's more of a theoretical heads-up than a proven problem. Eating the fruit as food is unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using a jambolan supplement, check your sugars more closely at first and let your pharmacist or doctor know before changing anything.
