Adagrasib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Jequirity interacts with.

In vitro research shows that jequirity extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Theoretically, taking jequirity may inhibit the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.

First things first: jequirity seeds contain abrin, a potent poison closely related to ricin, and they have no business being used as a supplement at all. So my honest advice here isn't really about timing it with your cancer treatment, it's that this plant simply shouldn't be taken in any form.

That said, here's the science behind the listed interaction. Adagrasib (Krazati) is cleared from your body largely by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies suggest jequirity can slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let adagrasib build up, which might worsen its known side effects like nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, or changes in liver and heart (QT) readings. This is only test-tube evidence and rated minor and unlikely, but please don't use jequirity. Talk with your oncologist or pharmacist about anything you're considering.

Jequirity (Abrus precatorius) is a tropical plant whose bright red, black-tipped seeds contain abrin, one of the most toxic plant proteins known. Despite a long history in traditional medicine, the seeds are dangerously poisonous and there is no reliable evidence that it is safe or effective. It should not be used as a supplement or medicine.

About Adagrasib

What Is Adagrasib Used For?

Brand name: Krazati

Krazati (adagrasib) is used to treat adults with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that carries a specific genetic change called a KRAS G12C mutation. It is used as a single agent for NSCLC after at least one prior treatment, and patients must be confirmed to have this mutation by an FDA-approved test.

Krazati is also used in combination with another drug called cetuximab to treat adults with KRAS G12C-mutated locally advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) who have already been treated with specific prior chemotherapy regimens. Both uses were approved under the FDA's accelerated approval program based on tumor response data, and continued approval may depend on results from confirmatory trials.
