N,n-dmpea and Ofloxacin

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Ofloxacin and N,n-dmpea in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Ofloxacin

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Ofloxacin is filed under 8 classifications — including quinolone antibiotics, organic anion-transporting polypeptide substrates (oatp), antibiotic drugs. N,n-dmpea has documented interactions with 1 drug class — the most serious being cytochrome p450 2d6 (cyp2d6) substrates (moderate) — and none of Ofloxacin’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Ofloxacin. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 7,263 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Ofloxacin that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. N,n-dmpea’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no N,n-dmpea side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that N,n-dmpea has no side effects.

About N,n-dmpea

What is N,n-dmpea?

  • Mood or energy support
  • Pre-workout or stimulant effect
  • Cognitive or focus support

N,N-DMPEA (N,N-dimethylphenethylamine) is a synthetic relative of phenethylamine sometimes marketed in stimulant or pre-workout supplements. There is very little reliable human research on its effects or safety, and it is not a well-established dietary ingredient, so it should be approached with real caution.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether N,n-dmpea is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our N,n-dmpea record says about it on its own.

N,n-dmpea: dosing

There is no established or standardized safe dose of N,N-DMPEA. Because it has not been properly studied in humans, no reliable dosing guidance exists. If a product contains it, follow the product label, but understand that label amounts may not be accurate or safe.

About Ofloxacin

What Is Ofloxacin Used For?

Brand names: Oflox, Floxin, Floxin Injection, Floxin Otic

Ofloxacin is used in several different forms, each approved for specific infections. The otic (ear) solution treats outer ear infections (otitis externa) in patients 6 months and older, chronic middle ear infections with a ruptured eardrum (chronic suppurative otitis media) in patients 12 and older, and acute middle ear infections in children 1 year and older who have ear tubes. The ophthalmic (eye) solution — including the brand Ocuflox — treats bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) and bacterial corneal ulcers.

Ofloxacin oral tablets treat adults with mild to moderate bacterial infections including community-acquired pneumonia, skin and skin structure infections, gonorrhea, chlamydial infections of the urethra or cervix, mixed urethral/cervical infections, and acute pelvic inflammatory disease. The oral tablet is also used for acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and uncomplicated cystitis, but only when no other treatment options are available, due to serious risk concerns with this drug class.
