Your combination pill pairs dicyclomine (which calms stomach cramps) with phenobarbital, a barbiturate that quiets the nervous system. Phenobarbital is the key player here. Animal studies suggest Pinellia ternata lowers activity and lengthens sleep time, so in theory it could add to phenobarbital's calming effect.

If they stack up, you might feel extra drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet. I want to be honest, though: this is based only on lab and animal data, not real human cases, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. Since Pinellia is processed traditional medicine and dicyclomine also adds some sedation, please run this past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Theoretically, Pinellia ternata can potentiate the therapeutic effect of barbiturates. Some of these sedative medications include pentobarbital (Nembutal), phenobarbital (Luminal), secobarbital (Seconal), and others.

Your combo pill pairs dicyclomine (which calms stomach cramps) with phenobarbital, a barbiturate that has a strong calming, sedating effect. The concern here is with the phenobarbital part. In animal studies, a Pinellia ternata preparation made the animals less active and made them sleep longer. So in theory, taking Pinellia alongside your medication could add to the drowsiness, leaving you more groggy, sleepier, or slower to react than usual.

I want to be honest about the evidence: this is only lab and animal data, not human studies, so it's a possible concern rather than a proven one. Still, since phenobarbital is already a potent sedative, I'd play it safe. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you drive.
