Ramelteon falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Pinellia Ternata interacts with.

Evidence from animal research shows that a Pinellia ternata preparation decreases activity and increases sleeping time. Theoretically, Pinellia ternata can potentiate the therapeutic effect of CNS depressants. Some of these medications include antihistamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, tricyclic antidepressants, and others.

Here's the simple version: Ramelteon (Rozerem) is a sleep aid that nudges your melatonin receptors to help you doze off. Pinellia ternata, in animal studies, seemed to calm activity and lengthen sleep on its own. So the worry is that pairing the two could add up, leaving you groggier, dizzier, or more drowsy than you bargained for, especially the next morning.

That said, this is a theoretical concern based only on animal research, not human studies, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Pinellia also needs special processing and qualified guidance to be safe at all. Before combining it with Ramelteon, please check in with your pharmacist or doctor so they can weigh it for you.
