Psilocybin + Methamphetamine
Methamphetamine brand name: Desoxyn.
Methamphetamine falls into 2 drug categories that Psilocybin can interact with; the most serious is rated moderate. Theoretically, combining psilocybin with serotonergic drugs might cause additive serotonergic effects.

These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Psilocybin interacts with whole categories of medication. Methamphetamine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Psilocybin in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
SEROTONERGIC DRUGS
1 of 2Why this applies to Methamphetamine
Methamphetamine falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Psilocybin interacts with.
Psilocybin has serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptor agonist activity. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with psilocybin might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with pairing psilocybin and methamphetamine (Desoxyn). Both push serotonin activity in the brain. Psilocybin (through psilocin) directly stimulates serotonin 5-HT2A receptors, while methamphetamine boosts serotonin and other brain chemicals as a stimulant. Stacking the two together could, in theory, add up and raise the risk of serotonin syndrome, which can show up as agitation, a racing heart, high blood pressure, sweating, shaking, muscle twitching, and a dangerously high body temperature.
I want to be honest that this warning is theoretical, based on how these drugs work, and hasn't actually been reported in people. Still, it's a serious-enough combination that I wouldn't take chances. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything with your methamphetamine.

STIMULANT DRUGS
2 of 2Methamphetamine also falls under STIMULANT DRUGS.
Due to the central nervous system (CNS) stimulant effects of psilocybin, concomitant use with stimulant drugs may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the basic idea: both psilocybin and methamphetamine (Desoxyn) rev up the brain and nervous system. Methamphetamine is already a strong stimulant that pushes up dopamine and norepinephrine, while psilocybin (through psilocin) stirs up serotonin signaling. Stacking two activating drugs together could, in theory, pile on the stimulant-type side effects, things like a racing or pounding heart, higher blood pressure, anxiety, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, and overheating. On the mental side, the two together could make any anxiety, agitation, or distorted thinking feel more intense and harder to predict.
I want to be honest about the evidence here: this concern is theoretical, based on how each one works rather than firm studies in people. Still, given how unpredictable psilocybin can be, please don't combine these on your own. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist first.

About Psilocybin
What is Psilocybin?
- Depression
- Anxiety (including in serious illness)
- Substance use disorders
- Post-traumatic stress
- Spiritual or psychological exploration
Psilocybin is a powerful psychedelic compound found in certain mushrooms and is being studied for hard-to-treat depression, anxiety, and addiction, but it is still investigational and not an approved supplement. It is illegal in most places, can cause intense and unpredictable mental effects, and should never be used outside of a supervised clinical setting.
About Methamphetamine
What Is Methamphetamine Used For?
Brand name: Desoxyn
Methamphetamine hydrochloride tablets are used as part of a total treatment program for attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity (ADHD) in children over 6 years of age.
The program usually includes other support too, such as psychological, educational and social measures. The tablets are meant for moderate to severe distractibility, short attention span, hyperactivity, emotional lability (rapid mood swings) and impulsivity.
