Here's the gist with Konvomep, which is just omeprazole paired with sodium bicarbonate. Your body clears omeprazole using liver enzymes, and one of them is CYP2C9. In lab dish studies, Terminalia arjuna appears to slow that enzyme down. In plain terms, if you slow the cleanup crew, a little more omeprazole could hang around in your system, which might nudge up its effects and side effects (think headache, stomach upset, gas, or diarrhea).

Now, please don't lose sleep over this. This is a theoretical concern based only on test-tube research, not real people, so we honestly can't say it matters in everyday use. Still, since both touch your heart and digestion, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially with concentrated supplement doses.

Here's the quick picture with Konvomep (omeprazole with sodium bicarbonate). Lab studies hint that Terminalia arjuna may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Omeprazole is partly handled by that enzyme, so in theory blocking it could let a bit more omeprazole linger in your system. That might mean slightly stronger effects or more of its usual side effects, like headache, nausea, gas, or loose stools.

That said, this is very weak evidence, only seen in test-tube research, not in real people. Omeprazole is mostly cleared by a different enzyme (CYP2C19), so any real-world impact is likely small. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you have a heart condition.

Theoretically, use of Terminalia chebula may increase the risk of adverse effects from omeprazole.
Animal research shows that enteral administration of Terminalia chebula for 15 days prior to administration of omeprazole increases blood levels of omeprazole and decreases omeprazole clearance. It is speculated that Terminalia chebula reduces the metabolism of omeprazole by inhibiting cytochrome P450 2C19.

Here's the gist for your Konvomep (omeprazole with sodium bicarbonate): your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C19 to break down and clear omeprazole. Lab and animal research suggests that Terminalia chebula may slow that enzyme down. If that happens in people, omeprazole could build up a bit higher than usual and stick around longer, which can nudge up side effects like headache, nausea, stomach upset, gas, or diarrhea.

I want to be honest with you though: this is theoretical, based only on lab and animal data, not human studies. Omeprazole is also a fairly forgiving medicine, so the real-world risk is probably small. Still, if you plan to take a concentrated Terminalia supplement regularly, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first rather than guessing.
