Oxycodone falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Tianeptine interacts with.

Tianeptine has sedative effects; high doses may have additive effects with other CNS depressants.
Higher doses of tianeptine have opioid like effects and may have additive effects with other sedative drugs. In one case report, a 42-year-old male presented with respiratory depression and aspiration pneumonia due to concomitant use of high-dose tianeptine and alprazolam.

Here's the concern with pairing these two: oxycodone is a true opioid that slows your breathing and calms your central nervous system. Tianeptine, especially at the higher doses found in those over-the-counter or gas station products, can act like an opioid itself and adds its own sedating effect on top. Stack them together and you can get too much sedation, slowed or shallow breathing, dangerous drowsiness, confusion, and a higher risk of overdose. There's even a case where high-dose tianeptine plus a sedative led to respiratory depression.

This rating is based on how these drugs work rather than big studies, but with opioids I treat it seriously. I'd strongly urge you not to use tianeptine at all, and please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining anything with your oxycodone.

What Is Oxycodone Used For?

Oxycodone is prescribed for pain severe enough to need daily, long-term opioid treatment — pain that hasn't responded well to non-opioid medicines or shorter-acting options. The extended-release form is designed for continuous pain control, not for occasional or as-needed use.

It is approved for adults and, in certain cases, for opioid-tolerant children 11 years and older who are already on opioid therapy. Because of the serious risks involved, it is reserved for situations where other approaches have genuinely fallen short.
