Hydrocodone Bitartrate falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Tianeptine interacts with.

Tianeptine has sedative effects; high doses may have additive effects with other CNS depressants.
Higher doses of tianeptine have opioid like effects and may have additive effects with other sedative drugs. In one case report, a 42-year-old male presented with respiratory depression and aspiration pneumonia due to concomitant use of high-dose tianeptine and alprazolam.

Here's the concern with pairing tianeptine and hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is a strong opioid painkiller that already slows down your breathing, makes you drowsy, and can cloud your thinking. At higher doses, tianeptine acts a lot like an opioid itself. Stack the two and those effects can pile on top of each other, which means deeper sedation, dangerously slow or shallow breathing, and a higher risk of overdose. There's even a published case where someone combined high-dose tianeptine with another sedative and ended up with serious respiratory depression and pneumonia.

To be fair, this concern is mostly based on how these drugs work rather than large studies, so it's rated as theoretical. Still, with an opioid on board, I wouldn't take chances. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything sedating with hydrocodone.
