Moclobemide falls under MONOAMINE OXIDASE INHIBITORS (MAOIs) — the group Tianeptine interacts with.

Here's the concern with pairing these two. Moclobemide is a reversible MAO inhibitor, meaning it slows down an enzyme that breaks down brain chemicals like serotonin. Tianeptine also nudges serotonin and other brain signals. When you stack a serotonin-affecting product on top of an MAOI, the worry is that these effects pile up dangerously. Our records flag this as a major interaction that is probable.

In real terms, combining them could trigger a serious reaction: a spike in blood pressure, fever, fast or irregular heartbeat, agitation, seizures, and in worst cases, collapse. That is not something to test out at home. Please do not combine these, and talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using any tianeptine product.
