Temazepam falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Tianeptine interacts with.

Tianeptine has sedative effects; high doses may have additive effects with other CNS depressants.
Higher doses of tianeptine have opioid like effects and may have additive effects with other sedative drugs. In one case report, a 42-year-old male presented with respiratory depression and aspiration pneumonia due to concomitant use of high-dose tianeptine and alprazolam.

Here's the simple version: both of these things calm down your brain and slow you down. Temazepam is a benzodiazepine that helps you sleep by quieting brain activity. Tianeptine, especially in the high doses found in those 'gas station' products, can act a lot like an opioid and adds its own sedating, breathing-slowing effects on top.

Stacked together, you could become very drowsy, foggy, or hard to wake, and in a worst case your breathing could slow dangerously. A real case described someone who developed serious breathing problems after mixing high-dose tianeptine with a similar drug. This concern is based on how these drugs work rather than big studies, but the risk is real. Please don't combine them, and talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

Temazepam capsules — sold as Restoril and under the generic name Temazepam — are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, generally 7 to 10 days. They help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.

This medication is intended for short periods only. If sleep trouble doesn't improve within 7 to 10 days, that may signal an underlying medical or psychiatric condition that needs its own evaluation.
