Why this applies to Piroxicam

Piroxicam falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Turmeric interacts with.

Turmeric may have antiplatelet effects and may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs. However, research is conflicting.
Curcumin, a constituent of turmeric, has demonstrated antiplatelet effects in vitro. Furthermore, two case reports have found that taking turmeric along with warfarin or fluindione was associated with an increased international normalized ratio (INR). However, one clinical study in healthy volunteers shows that taking curcumin 500 mg daily for 3 weeks, alone or with aspirin 100 mg, does not increase antiplatelet effects or bleeding risk. It is possible that the dose of turmeric used in this study was too low to produce a notable effect.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with piroxicam (Feldene). It's an NSAID, and like other drugs in that family, it can already nudge up your bleeding risk by affecting how your platelets clump together and by irritating the stomach lining. Turmeric, in concentrated supplement form, may have its own mild blood-thinning effect. So stacking the two could add up and slightly raise your chances of bruising easily, nosebleeds, or stomach upset and bleeding.

That said, the evidence here is mixed and not strong. A small study didn't find a real increase in bleeding, and the spice amounts you cook with are very unlikely to matter. It's mostly the higher-dose capsules worth asking about. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
