Here's the gist for this pair. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to clear cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril). Adrafinil turns into modafinil, and modafinil may gently speed that enzyme up. If it does, your system could break down cyclobenzaprine a little faster, which might leave it working less than expected. In real life that could mean weaker muscle relaxation and not as much relief from those aches and spasms.

I want to be honest about how soft this is. This concern comes from lab data only, not from people, so it's theoretical and may never amount to anything noticeable. Still, since adrafinil is unregulated and tough on the liver, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Here's the gist of it. Once your liver turns adrafinil into modafinil, that modafinil can gently speed up an enzyme called CYP3A4. Cyclobenzaprine, your muscle relaxer, is partly cleared by that same enzyme. So in theory, taking the two together could nudge your body to clear cyclobenzaprine a little faster, which might leave you with less muscle-relaxing relief than you'd expect.

I want to be honest about how shaky this is. It's a theoretical concern based on how these drugs work, not something proven in real patients, and modafinil is only a weak booster of that enzyme. If you ever feel your cyclobenzaprine isn't easing the muscle pain or stiffness the way it used to, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
