Flibanserin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) SUBSTRATES — the group Adrafinil interacts with.

Theoretically, adrafinil might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C19 substrates.
Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil has been shown to inhibit CYP2C19 activity in vitro.

Here's the gist for Addyi (flibanserin): your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2C19 to help clear it out. Adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, and in lab studies modafinil appears to slow that same enzyme down. If it does, flibanserin could clear more slowly and build up, leading to stronger effects like dizziness, drowsiness, low blood pressure, and even fainting. That last one is a real concern with this medication, especially if you also drink alcohol.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how the drugs behave, not on real patient cases, so don't panic. But since flibanserin already carries fainting warnings, I'd run this combination past your doctor or pharmacist before mixing them.

Here's the gist for Addyi (flibanserin). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break it down. When adrafinil turns into modafinil in your body, modafinil can gently speed that enzyme up. In theory, that means your liver could clear flibanserin a bit faster, leaving less of it around and making it work less well for low sexual desire.

I want to be honest: this concern is theoretical, based on how these drugs behave rather than real-world reports, and modafinil is only a weak inducer. Still, since flibanserin already comes with cautions, I wouldn't combine the two without a quick check. Please run it by your doctor or pharmacist before mixing them.

What Is Flibanserin Used For?

Brand name: Addyi

Addyi is approved to treat acquired, generalized hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) — a condition where low sexual desire causes significant distress or relationship difficulty — in women under 65. "Acquired" means the low desire developed after a period of normal desire; "generalized" means it happens regardless of the situation or partner.

Addyi is not intended for use in men, and it is not a sexual performance enhancer. It is also not meant for HSDD that is caused by a medical condition, a psychiatric condition, relationship problems, or another medication.
