    “Anecdotally, headache, poor concentration, irritability, sedation, disturbed sleep, unpleasant stimulation, and anxiety have been reported following intake of adrafinil. It is unknown if individuals reporting these symptoms were also taking other substances.

    Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Insomnia, headache, and nervousness are common adverse effects of modafinil.”

Pregnancy And Lactation Possibly Unsafe

When used orally. Adrafinil is a precursor to the stimulant prescription drug modafinil. Modafinil has been associated with reports of intrauterine growth restriction and spontaneous abortion. Also, animal studies show that developmental toxicity occurs with use of modafinil during pregnancy. Although modafinil, and possibly adrafinil, might have addictive potential, the potential for abuse is low. However, there have been anecdotal reports of withdrawal symptoms following use of adrafinil, alone or in combination with other products. Avoid using.

Some Nifurtimox Products Have a Food Rule — Adrafinil Should Not Break It

At least one FDA label for a product containing Nifurtimox says to take it with food. If you take Adrafinil on an empty stomach out of habit, keep them separate — and take Nifurtimox with a meal where the label says to.

This may not be true of your version. Food instructions belong to the product, not the ingredient: two Nifurtimox products can carry different directions, and extended-release forms often differ from immediate-release ones. What Is Nifurtimox Used For?

Brand name: Lampit

Lampit (nifurtimox) is approved to treat Chagas disease (American Trypanosomiasis), a parasitic infection caused by Trypanosoma cruzi. Lampit is approved specifically for pediatric patients from birth to under 18 years of age who weigh at least 2.5 kg (about 5.5 lbs).

Chagas disease can affect both the blood and tissues. Nifurtimox works against multiple forms of the parasite, including those inside and outside of cells.
