Andrographis + Effient
Effient brand name: Prasugrel.
Andrographis has a moderate interaction with Effient. Theoretically, andrographis might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Effient
Effient falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Andrographis interacts with.
Animal and laboratory studies suggest that andrographis has antiplatelet effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind with Effient (prasugrel): it's already a powerful blood thinner that stops platelets from clumping, and you're usually taking it alongside aspirin too. Andrographis appears, in lab and animal studies, to have its own mild antiplatelet effect. So the worry is simple addition. Stacking a supplement that thins the blood on top of a strong antiplatelet drug could nudge your bleeding risk upward.
In real life that might look like easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or cuts that take longer to stop. I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on weak evidence, not human studies, so it may not amount to much. Still, since Effient is serious medicine, please run andrographis past your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Effient page
“Effient (prasugrel) keeps platelets from forming clots, usually after a stent or a heart attack, and I would not pair supplements with it casually. Roughly 200 ingredients on this list can thin the blood further and raise bleeding risk, including two of the five rated major.”

About Andrographis
What is Andrographis?
- Common cold and flu symptoms
- Upper respiratory infections
- Sore throat
- Fever
- Immune support
- Digestive complaints
Andrographis is a bitter Asian herb traditionally used for colds, flu, and infections, and some studies suggest it may ease cold symptoms and shorten how long they last. The evidence is limited and the quality of studies varies, so it should not replace standard care. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it during pregnancy.
About Prasugrel
What Is Prasugrel Used For?
Brand name: Prasugrel
Prasugrel is used to reduce blood clot–related heart events, including clots forming in a stent (stent thrombosis). It is for people with acute coronary syndrome who are going to be treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI, a procedure to open blocked heart arteries).
This includes people with unstable angina or a non-ST-elevation heart attack (NSTEMI), and people with an ST-elevation heart attack (STEMI) treated with primary or delayed PCI. Both Effient and generic Prasugrel tablets carry this use.
