Carisoprodol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) SUBSTRATES — the group Bacopa interacts with.

Theoretically, bacopa might increase the levels and adverse effects of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro evidence suggests that bacopa extract can moderately and non-competitively inhibit CYP2C19 enzymes. It is not known whether this is clinically significant.

Here's the gist for Soma (carisoprodol) and bacopa. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2C19 to break carisoprodol down. In a test-tube study, bacopa appeared to mildly slow that same enzyme. If that effect held true in people, carisoprodol might clear out a little slower and stack up in your system, which could mean more of its usual effects, like extra drowsiness, dizziness, and feeling unsteady or foggy.

I'll be honest with you though: this is a theoretical concern based only on lab work, not on real patients, so we don't know if it actually matters day to day. Still, since both can make you sleepy, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you'll be driving.

Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb most often used for memory and thinking. This medication is intended only for short-term use — up to two or three weeks. It has not been proven effective for longer-term use, and the muscle conditions it treats are generally short-lived by nature.
