Here's the gist with your birth control pill (Yasmin and similar brands). The idea on file is that bacopa might gently slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which plays a part in clearing the estrogen in your pill. If that happened, estrogen levels could nudge up a little, which in theory might mean more of the usual estrogen-type side effects like nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, or bloating.

The honest truth, though, is that this is theoretical and only based on lab studies, and even those disagree about whether bacopa does anything meaningful in real people. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since this pill matters for both health and preventing pregnancy, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor before you start a daily bacopa supplement.

Your birth control pill, which combines drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol, gets broken down in part by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In test-tube studies, bacopa may slow this enzyme down a little. If that happened in your body, the hormones could build up slightly, which in theory might bump up estrogen-related effects like nausea, breast tenderness, headaches, or bloating.
