Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS

Why this applies to LetibotulinumtoxinA-wlbg

LetibotulinumtoxinA-wlbg falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Bacopa interacts with.

Theoretically, concurrent use might decrease the effectiveness of both agents.
Bacopa seems to inhibit acetylcholinesterase and might increase acetylcholine levels, which could counteract the effects of anticholinergic drugs. Similarly, anticholinergic drugs might counteract the cholinergic effects of bacopa.

Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.

Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the honest picture with Letybo, which is a botulinum toxin injection used to smooth frown lines. It works by blocking the release of acetylcholine at the nerve endings, which relaxes the treated muscles. Bacopa is thought to nudge acetylcholine levels in the other direction by slowing the enzyme that breaks it down. So on paper, they push against each other, and you might wonder if bacopa could slightly blunt your results.

In real life, this concern is very theoretical and comes only from how these two work in the lab, not from actual cases. Botulinum toxin acts right where it's injected, so a swallowed herb is unlikely to matter much. Still, it's worth mentioning bacopa to whoever does your injections just so everyone's on the same page.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the LetibotulinumtoxinA-wlbg page

“Letybo (letibotulinumtoxinA-wlbg) relaxes targeted muscles by blocking nerve signals, and a number of supplements push on that same system, so I would treat this list with real care rather than a quick skim. Three of the 33 ingredients carry a major rating (henbane, scopolia, and procaine), and those belong at the top of your reading.”

About Bacopa

What is Bacopa?

Bacopa
  • Memory and cognitive support
  • Anxiety and stress
  • ADHD symptoms
  • Age-related memory decline
  • General brain health

Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb most often used for memory and thinking. Some small studies suggest it may modestly help memory when taken regularly for several weeks, but the evidence is limited and quality varies. It is generally well tolerated but can cause stomach upset, and it should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding due to a lack of safety data.
