Rasagiline falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Bacopa interacts with.

Theoretically, bacopa might increase the levels and adverse effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
Research on the effects of bacopa extracts on CYP1A2 enzymes is conflicting. Some in vitro evidence shows that bacopa extract can moderately and non-competitively inhibit CYP1A2, while other in vitro evidence suggests that any effect is unlikely to be clinically significant.

Here's the gist for rasagiline (Azilect). Your liver clears this Parkinson's medication mainly through an enzyme called CYP1A2. In lab dishes, bacopa has shown a possible ability to slow that enzyme down. If that happened in your body, rasagiline could build up a bit, which might mean more of its typical side effects like dizziness, headache, nausea, trouble sleeping, or low blood pressure when you stand up.

The honest part: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube studies, and even that data is conflicting, so it may not matter at all in real life. Still, since rasagiline already needs careful handling, I'd run any bacopa supplement past your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

Bacopa is an Ayurvedic herb most often used for memory and thinking. Rasagiline tablets — sold as Azilect, Rasagiline, and Rasagiline mesylate — are approved to treat Parkinson's disease. They can be used on their own (monotherapy) or alongside other Parkinson's medications, including levodopa.

When used with levodopa, rasagiline helps smooth out the motor fluctuations that can occur as Parkinson's disease progresses. Your prescriber will determine whether it's right for you as a standalone treatment or as an add-on.
