Chlorophyllin + Enalapril Maleate
Enalapril Maleate brand names: Vasotec, Epaned.
Chlorophyllin has a moderate interaction with Enalapril Maleate. Theoretically, concomitant use of chlorophyllin with photosensitizing drugs may have additive effects.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS
Why this applies to Enalapril Maleate
Enalapril Maleate falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Chlorophyllin interacts with.
Chlorophyllin is a semi-synthetic derivative of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has been reported to cause photosensitization. Orally, chlorophyll has also been associated with the development of pseudoporphyria in multiple case reports.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the gist of it. This particular interaction isn't about how your body breaks down enalapril or how well it controls your blood pressure. Instead, it's about your skin and the sun. Both chlorophyllin and enalapril have each been linked, on their own, to making skin more sensitive to sunlight. Put them together and that sun sensitivity could, in theory, add up, leaving you more prone to sunburn or a rash than usual.
I'll be honest, this one is mostly theoretical and based on limited reports, not strong studies, so it's not a reason to panic. If you do take both, just be a little smarter in the sun: use sunscreen, wear a hat, and watch for unexpected redness. Have a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before starting chlorophyllin to be safe.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Enalapril Maleate page
“Potassium is the supplement I worry about first with enalapril maleate (Vasotec, Epaned). This ACE inhibitor, used for high blood pressure and heart failure, already makes the body hold onto potassium, so adding more can raise blood levels too far, a problem called hyperkalemia.”

About Chlorophyllin
What is Chlorophyllin?
- Body and breath odor control
- Wound and skin care
- Internal deodorant for ostomy or incontinence
- Detoxification claims
- Digestive support
Chlorophyllin is a water-soluble, semi-synthetic form of chlorophyll most often used to help control body and fecal odor and to support wound healing. The best evidence is for its use as a deodorizing agent, while many popular claims like detoxification and digestive benefits are not well proven. It is generally considered safe for short-term use, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before starting it, especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
About Enalapril
What Is Enalapril Used For?
Brand names: Vasotec, Epaned
Enalapril treats high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks.
It also treats symptomatic heart failure. It is used for asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction (a weak pumping chamber of the heart without symptoms) to slow the development of overt heart failure and reduce hospital stays for heart failure. Enalapril oral solution (including Epaned) is labeled for high blood pressure in adults and children older than one month.
