Theoretically, taking cinchona might increase the adverse effects of phenobarbital.
Clinical research shows that taking quinine, a constituent of cinchona, increases the peak plasma concentration and area under the curve of phenobarbital.

Here's the gist for your phenobarbital (Soniphen): cinchona bark contains quinine, and some research suggests quinine can raise the blood levels of phenobarbital. Phenobarbital is an active sedative on its own (not a prodrug that needs activating), so higher levels mean a stronger, more sedating effect. That could show up as extra drowsiness, dizziness, feeling foggy or unsteady, or slowed breathing if it builds up too much.

Now, this is rated as theoretical, based on how the drugs behave, so it isn't a guaranteed problem. Still, phenobarbital is a drug where small shifts matter. Concentrated cinchona supplements are far riskier here than a trace in something like tonic water. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, and don't change your phenobarbital dose on your own.
