Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Here's the gist for aliskiren (Tekturna), your blood pressure medicine. Corydalis yanhusuo may have its own mild blood pressure lowering effect, partly because it can contain berberine. So when you pair it with aliskiren, the two might stack together and push your numbers down a little more than aliskiren alone.

If your pressure drops too far, you could feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or off-balance, especially when you stand up quickly. I want to be honest though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these compounds behave, not on solid human studies with aliskiren. It's not a dangerous combo, just worth watching. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it, and keep an eye on your home readings.

Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical research show that berberine moderately inhibits CYP3A4. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP3A4.

Here's the gist for aliskiren (Tekturna). Your body partly clears this blood pressure medicine using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine, which lab and small human studies suggest can mildly slow that same enzyme down. If aliskiren is cleared more slowly, a bit more could build up in your blood, which could nudge its effect stronger.

In real terms, that might mean your blood pressure drops more than expected, leaving you dizzy, lightheaded, or extra tired. I'll be honest though, this concern is theoretical and based mostly on lab work, not solid human studies, so it may never cause a noticeable problem. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, and don't change your aliskiren on your own.

Aliskiren and Tekturna tablets are both approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and in children who are at least 6 years old and weigh 50 kg (about 110 lbs) or more. Lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of serious events like strokes and heart attacks.
