These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with whole categories of medication. Belladonna, Ergotamine, Phenobarbital falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Corydalis Yanhusuo in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CNS DEPRESSANTS
1 of 2Why this applies to Belladonna, Ergotamine, Phenobarbital
Belladonna, Ergotamine, Phenobarbital falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine may have sedative effects. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also have CNS depressants effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The piece of this combination that matters most here is the phenobarbital, which is a barbiturate that calms down the brain and nervous system. The belladonna and ergotamine in Bellergal-S are mainly there for nerve and blood vessel symptoms, but phenobarbital is a true sedative. Corydalis yanhusuo may have its own mild calming effect, so stacking the two could leave you feeling more drowsy, foggy, dizzy, or slowed down than usual.
I want to be honest about how strong this concern is: it's theoretical, based on lab and animal research, not real human studies. So don't panic. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you drive or already feel sleepy on this medication.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Belladonna, Ergotamine, Phenobarbital also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical research show that berberine moderately inhibits CYP3A4. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP3A4.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination pill (Bellergal-S) blends three active drugs, and the one that matters most here is ergotamine, which your liver clears using an enzyme called CYP3A4. Corydalis contains berberine, which may gently slow that same enzyme down. In theory, that could let ergotamine build up a bit higher than usual.
Why care? Ergotamine is one of those drugs where too much can cause real trouble, like cold or tingly hands and feet, muscle cramps, nausea, or poor circulation. The phenobarbital piece could also leave you feeling more drowsy or foggy. Keep in mind this warning is theoretical, based on lab findings rather than proven cases. Still, given ergotamine's narrow safety margin, I'd run this past your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Belladonna, Ergotamine, Phenobarbital page
“Bellergal-S packs three drugs into one tablet, and its supplement list earns real respect before you mix in anything else. Phenobarbital is a sedating barbiturate, belladonna adds drying anticholinergic effects, and ergotamine constricts blood vessels, so this combination collects interactions from several directions at once.”
