Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Lisdexamfetamine
Lisdexamfetamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Corydalis Yanhusuo interacts with.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence show that berberine can inhibit CYP2D6. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2D6.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and corydalis. Corydalis contains compounds, including berberine, that may slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Vyvanse leans partly on that enzyme to be cleared from your body. So in theory, if corydalis blocks it, a little more of the stimulant could hang around than usual.
In real life, that might mean a bump in the usual stimulant effects, things like a faster heartbeat, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, less appetite, or a higher feeling of restlessness or anxiety. I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern based on lab work, not solid human studies, so the actual risk is uncertain. Still, it's worth running by your pharmacist or doctor before you combine them, rather than changing anything on your own.
