Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. Animal research suggests that berberine can have hypotensive effects. Also, a clinical study suggests that taking berberine in combination with amlodipine can lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure when compared with amlodipine alone. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also reduce blood pressure.

Here's the simple version: perindopril (Aceon) already lowers your blood pressure, and Corydalis yanhusuo may nudge it down a little further. The herb contains compounds, including berberine, that have shown mild blood-pressure-lowering effects in animal studies and one small human study with a different medicine. So the concern is an additive effect, meaning the two together could drop your pressure more than expected.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or faint when standing up. I'll be honest with you though: this interaction is theoretical, based mostly on lab and animal data, so it may not amount to much in real life. Still, if you take perindopril and want to try Corydalis, check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and watch how you feel.

What Is Perindopril Used For?

Perindopril Erbumine tablets are used to treat essential hypertension (high blood pressure). They can be used alone or combined with other blood pressure medicines, particularly thiazide diuretics.

Perindopril Erbumine tablets are also used in adults with stable coronary artery disease to lower the risk of dying from a cardiovascular cause or having a nonfatal heart attack. They can be used alongside other standard coronary artery disease treatments such as antiplatelet, blood pressure, or cholesterol-lowering therapy.
