Janumet combines two diabetes medicines, metformin and sitagliptin, that work together to lower your blood sugar. Here's the thing about cowhage: in animal studies, it appears to have its own blood-sugar-lowering effect. So in theory, stacking it on top of Janumet could push your numbers down a little too far, raising the chance of hypoglycemia.

What that can feel like is shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, confusion, or sudden hunger. Now, I want to be honest with you, this is based only on lab and animal research, not human studies, so the real-world risk is uncertain. Still, if you decide to try cowhage, check your sugars more closely at first and loop in your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
