Hyoscyamine, Phenobarbital falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Datura Wrightii interacts with.

Datura wrightii contains atropine and scopolamine, as well as other tropane alkaloids with anticholinergic activity. Concomitant use of Datura wrightii with anticholinergic drugs might increase anticholinergic effects and adverse effects. Some anticholinergic drugs include amantadine, atropine, belladonna alkaloids, phenothiazines, scopolamine, and tricyclic antidepressants.

Here's the thing to understand: your medication already contains hyoscyamine, which is itself an anticholinergic, meaning it dials down the acetylcholine system to calm cramping in your gut or bladder. Datura wrightii is loaded with the very same kind of compounds (atropine, scopolamine, hyoscyamine). So taking them together is like stacking two of the same drug on top of each other.

That doubling-up could push the typical hyoscyamine side effects into overdrive: a dry mouth, blurry vision, a racing heart, constipation, trouble urinating, overheating, and even confusion or hallucinations. With the phenobarbital piece added in, you may also feel extra drowsy or foggy. This concern is based on how these compounds work rather than hard studies, but honestly, Datura is genuinely poisonous and unsafe to take. Please skip it and talk with your pharmacist or doctor.
